The 𝟮𝟬𝘁𝗵 𝗔𝗣𝗖𝗖𝗵𝗘 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀 is just right around the corner! The opportunity to showcase and delve into the innovations and discoveries of the brilliant minds of the Asia Pacific region is near. One of the missions of chemical engineers across the globe is to innovate and immerse ourselves in preserving our environment through new sustainability measures. To broaden our knowledge on this topic, the 20th APCChE Congress hosts Prof. Kao-Lun (Allan) Tung of Taiwan as its 4th Plenary Speaker as he shares his incredible expertise and discoveries in Separation and Purification technology.
In current time, Prof. Kao-Lun Tung works as the Vice President of the Taiwan Institute of Chemical Engineers (TwIChE), the Chair Professor at the Department of Chemical Engineering at National Taiwan University in Taipei, Taiwan and a Fellow of the International Water Association (IWA). He is now also serving as the Deputy Director of the Water Innovation and Environmental Research (WInnER) Center at NTU. He was a council member of The Filtration Society in the UK from 2008-2012 and also served as the Vice Chair of the membrane technology specialist group in IWA from 2017 to 2022.
Prof. Tung has extensively studied membrane separation technology applications in water resources and environmental protection for over 20 years. With this, he has published over 230 SCI journal papers,30 books/book chapters, and issued over 30 patents that led to the establishment of 2 start-up membrane filter companies.
In addition to these great contributions, he was also invited to more than 60 international conferences wherein he was given several national and international awards. His achievements were widely recognized by different platforms such as the Discovery Channel and various journals like Separation & Purification Technology journal by Elsevier, Desalination and Water Treatment, Taylor & Francis and many more, to which he is the respective editor.
